A Profile of the Graduate
 
 The design engineer is a professional trained in the development of new objects, in the distribution of spaces and in the creation of a visual language which a society in constant evolution demands. Design Engineering as it is taught at UTM has very particular characteristics, which make it unique in the country.  The study plan involves a series of creative subjects, which permit the graduate to be capable of realizing architectural designs and industrial designs, as well as give graphic solutions to the problems of contemporary society.
 The Design engineer is a professional who can take charge of the planning and production of all types of objects and habitable spaces as well as communicate visually the needs and feelings of the community by means of his creations.
   
The Workplace
 

 In keeping step with current requirements, our design engineers are trained in a corporate environment. They are able to set up their own business or join the ranks of the highest executives in public or private sector businesses, graphic and industrial design offices, media agencies, as well as government and educational institutions that undertake activities in the area of design that requires individuals capable of creating designs that integrate space and objects capable of being industrialized, thus proving to be a social catalyst.
