The Universidad Tecnológica de la Mixteca (UTM), Centro de Idiomas is pleased to announce our upcoming conference entitled Looking Forward 2011: Creating a Community of Language Professionals for the 21st Century to take place the 22nd and 23rd of September.
We would like to cordially invite any interested publishers and vendors of educational materials, as well as non-profit organizations, professional associations, and government representatives to participate by exhibiting and distributing materials and information of interest to language teachers and administrators in our region. This is an exciting opportunity to make contact and forge new relationships in an emerging market. Our last conference in 2009 was a great success with presentations by representatives of UTM, UNISTMO, UABJO, MEXTESOL, the US Embassy, and Oxford University press, among others. We received a lot of positive feedback from participants, but many indicated they would like to see more exhibits of materials they could take back to their classrooms.
Here at UTM, we recently implemented new policies to protect copyright by requiring learners to purchase text/work books for all language classes. We think it is important for every student to have and use their own book. We would also like to encourage them to explore the wide range of materials available for language acquisition and to gain a sense of ownership and independence in regard to their own learning. As their teachers are the primary source of such materials we want conference participants to have the opportunity to view and take home as many new resources as possible. We hope you will attend the conference and join us in this endeavor.

La Universidad Tecnológica de la Mixteca a través del Centro de Idiomas le envía un cordial saludo y al mismo tiempo se complace en invitarlo a la Segunda Conferencia Anual de Maestros de Inglés, titulada: Looking Forward 2011: Creating a Community of Language Professionals for the 21st Century.
El evento se realizará los días 22 y 23 de Septiembre de 2011, al cual asistirán representantes de diversas instituciones no lucrativas, gubernamentales, asociaciones de enseñanza y editoriales; para presentar y exhibir los libros y materiales didácticos que componen su organización. Por lo anterior, lo invitamos a participar en este evento.
Su presencia será valiosa para reforzar la visión que la Universidad tiene sobre el futuro de esta región de México, ya que se demostrará la importancia que tienen los libros y materiales didácticos en la educación. Aunado a esto, también nos ayudará a cimentar la nueva política referente a la protección de los derechos de autor y la prohibición de la reproducción total o parcial de las obras literarias.
Siendo a su vez, una oportunidad de negocios para quien decida aceptar nuestra invitación; pues no existen organizaciones en el área que se dediquen a esta trascendente labor. De tal manera, que lo que pretendemos es trabajar conjuntamente para cubrir las necesidades de este mercado potencial.
